The Cloisters

On this sunny, beautiful New York Summer morning we decided to head (way)uptown to visit The Cloisters museum.

According to the website of The Metropolitan Museum of Arts, The Cloisters museum and gardens, is a branch devoted to the art and architecture of medieval Europe, was assembled from architectural elements, both domestic and religious, that largely date from the twelfth through the fifteenth century.

Even before arriving to the Cloisters the walk through Fort Tryon park is idyllic and once you enter the gardens you are treated to stunning seating areas where many are seen leisurely drawing or reading... such a peaceful piece of New York!
